This event has been planned and organized by our very own evil range master, Ed Zachweija.
Note: please remember the $10.00 admission fee per guest does not include the '$1.00 per non-member per visit' we must collect for insurance purposes.
Get set for another fun shooting event at the Vankleek Hill Gun Club! Our Lumberjack Shoot is open to all current members and guests invited by members in good standing. Admission is $10.00 at the door per member and per guest (children 12 and under are free): each paid admission includes the competitor's first target and a complimentary ticket for the door prize of a Norinco Sportsman .22LR pistol (please note you MUST have a valid P.A.L. for restricted firearms and be present suring the draw to win the door prize).
Rules: this shoot is open only to handguns firing handgun calibres and equipped with iron sights. Optics, laser sights, and similar devices are not permitted. (Hint: we suggest centrefire calibres, the bigger, the better). Bring plenty of ammunition as you'll need 100 rounds per target. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will each receive a prize.
There will also be a balloon shoot for the kids (must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). Each participant in the kids' balloon shoot will receive a prize.
There will also be an additional draw for a Norinco EM-332 .22LR Target Rifle with scope and carry case (value over $400.00!). Tickets are $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00.
Food: our volunteers will be happy to make lunch for you - for a fee of course (all proceeds to support your club). Hot dogs are $1.00 each, sandwiches are $2.00, and cold pop and bottled water are as usual available from the vending machines for $1.00 each.
The Vankleek Hill Gun Club is a non-profit organization wholly dedicated to the operation, maintenance, and promotion of an indoor target shooting range for its members. Its executive committee of unpaid volunteers is elected by its members on a yearly basis.
Club facilities include a heated indoor year-round shooting range for firearms, archery, and airguns, one firing point for centerfire (non-magnum) rifles, and nine firing points for pistol-calibre firearms.
Several events are hosted by the club each year. These are generally informal competitions involving innovative (though some say 'diabolical') targets often made of wood, foam, etc., a BBQ, and a meet-and-greet. Prizes are often available to be won both in the competition and as door prizes.
If you live in Eastern Ontario or Western Quebec and are interested in joining a fun, friendly, and small range situated between Ottawa and Montreal feel free to contact us through Marstar Canada, who will put you in touch with a member of the Club Executive.
