Firma Sport-Systeme Dittrich was founded in 2003 by Bernd Dittrich, who has enjoyed the shooting sports and has had an ongoing interest in researching firearms designs for over fifteen years. After over one year of research and development, SSD and its founder proudly unveiled the BD-38 - a newly manufactured 'semi-automatic only' version of the WWII MP-38 made entirely in Germany - at IWA in 2005.
According to SSD's founder, "Our greatest aim, if we can, is to manufacture historical guns which are as close to the original as possible Thus, for example, the grips and the stock of the BD 38 can be made from bakelite, as is the case with the original. The greatest attention is paid to the manufacture of all the individual parts at our own company following the motto 'Made in Germany'."
SSD's dedication to recreating the original firearms as close to the originals as possible includes the in-house manufacture of their own forging tools, sheet metal moulds, and other highly specialized implements required to create these historical guns in exacting detail.
These historic German made semi-autos are the finest civilian ownable examples of their type available anywhere in the world - we guarantee it!
