Pedersoli 1874 Sharps Old West "Maple" .45-70
The new 1874 Sharps Old West gets its inspiration from a rifle made by Henry Slotterbeck, a gunsmith from Württemberg who emigrated to the States around the 1850s who, after having worked for some years for Henry Deringer in Philadelphia, founded the Slotter & Co. The stock features brass hardware for the "Walnut" version, German silver hardware for the "Maple" version. On the right side of the butt stock there is a plate that which can be personalized with some engraving of choice. The forend has wedge plates. Creedmoor and tunnel sights not included.

Named after the young and famous scout, who hit a Kiowa warrior at 1538 yards, shooting with his Sharps Sporting on June 27, 1874 at Adobe Walls, Texas. Billy Dixon and 27 buffalo hunters were surrounded by more than 500 Kiowa and Comanche warriors, spurred by their 'medicine man' who convinced them they were invulnerable to the 'white' shots. Accurate reproduction of the rifle Sharps Long Range model made in December of 1876, converting rifles with 32” (813 mm) barrels length to 34” (864 mm). At the beginning it was produced with single trigger, only in February of 1879 some hundred pieces have been made with double set trigger. Stock and forend are made of selected walnut, checkered. The stock of civil type with pistol grip and cheek piece enables the shooting stability. The forend is completed with a German silver cap.
